We actually theorize that one of the reasons so many people aren’t showing symptoms or getting seriously ill - is because of exposure to other Corona Viruses.
It’s protective.

There have been cases of double infections but they are questioned as potentially being the case of a false negative in between positives.
But even then, we haven’t had long enough to know if acquired immunity is permanent or temporary. It would be a pretty bad scenario if the acquired immunity faded in a short period of time.

That’s exceedingly unlikely, and insofar as it could happen it would be because of serious immune system dysfunction. And then you would probably have other serious health issues, due to this.
This is the kind of person who lives a crippled life, and dies early.
Ultimately, Americans shouldn’t worry unless they’re in their seventies, and or, have such a condition. With such an exceedingly low death rate the comprises you’re inflicting on yourself, social isolation for example, are unnecessary self punishment.

People get the flu every year. Even with a vaccine.
Without a vaccine for COVID 19, people will absolutely contract it more than once. The ones that didn’t die the first go around may not be so lucky the next go round. It’s just enevidble.
