I live in Ascension and have my vehicles registered in Jefferson Parish at my mother’s address. I went to a inspection sticker shop in Gonzales and they told me that a vehicle registered in any part of the state gets the Ascension Parish treatment, so I just get my break tags in St James Parish.

I doubt a cop would write you a ticket if you had the defective sticker. You can just tape it on though.
Inspection sticker tickets are kind of random anyway. I've had an expired one for 2-3 years before and never gotten pulled over.
