Let me guess you forgot to pay? It’s not their job to babysit your bank account for you.

Wouldn’t an email be better?
There’s a definite paper trail.
We made everyone sign and return a cancellation form for anything done for this exact reason-to prevent screwups.

OMV flagged me and took forever to fix.
Meh calling bs. It isn’t that difficult to pay or correct if incorrect

Nope. I didn’t sign anything

Right, UNLESS your agent fricks up the DL# and the dates of coverage in a letter to the OMV. TWICE!!!

I pay it all up front. No monthly payments here. Maybe you do it.

Nah. But it’s pretty common. The worst was when I hired a guy with 50 years of experience laying brick. I told him what I wanted and it was a simple job. The bricks had one face that is meant to be the exterior. I showed it to him and told him. He fricked it up. Put some backwards. Luckily it was a small job and I fixed it myself.

This didn’t happen.
Sure did. Now I gotta show up at the agents office at 9 am tomorrow to make sure I’ve got coverage.

Well you’re right. Next time I will send an email. Thing is I went in person to make sure what was gonna happen. I repeated what I wanted and he said “yup, done.” Ducking idiot

When I was in insurance you couldn't even cancel a policy for someone (in Louisiana) without their signature from them.
This current frickup is with State Farm. I didn’t have to sign anything. Maybe that guy fricked that up too.

You were in the office and didn’t ask to see updated dec page after the endorsement to remove vehicles?
Alway ask to see the new dec page and billing schedule, even if you pay in full. Removing vehicles should reflect a refund owed to you and you can verify the change was made correctly. Check dates too so you make sure there is no miscommunication and avoid lapse.

Why are you relying on an insurance agent to tell you when it’s time to renew your insurance? The companies send out multiple letters and emails. You also own a card that tells you exactly when it ends.
This is irrelevant. I paid for all 4 cars for the entire 6 months (State Farm doesn’t do a year). Then I got Hagertys for 2 of them. Told the guy to cancel those 2 and I would wait on a refund. Dumbass cancelled all 4.

Why do you think you need an agent to handle freaking auto insurance?
It takes less than an hour every 6 months to shop around and make sure you have the best rate. Probably less time than you've spent "firing" agents.

Good advice. You gotta CYA everything now. So many people are screwups.

I require more than just simple minimum coverage. Maybe you do.

If this is truly the insurance agents' faults, you have horrible luck when picking agents.
Right. I couldn’t believe it.

Why not just purchase insurance directly through the carrier instead of using an agent?
Pretty sure State Farm requires an agent.
Monoline for umbrella is like that for sure. They wouldn’t let me buy directly.

You sound like a miserable client. Most agents could get the carrier to fix it if it was truly an agent error.
