So many of yall would be but hurt when hanging out with my family.

I've got 45qt and a 25qt, brother has a CCA 65qt, and dad has a purple and gold 50qt.

I guess if you're worried about spending $300 on an ice chest, you're doing something wrong.

First off, it is "your" not "you're".

Secondly, you didn't strike a nerve. Honestly, I don't give a shite what people think. If I want to bring my Yeti out to the tailgate and not have to worry about ice at all, so be it. If I like having a large cooler that I can put out by the pool and have drinks stay ice cold all day, so be it. What I don't understand is why people worry about what others do with their freakin ice chests? It is an ice chest. Who gives a frick how much money they decided to spend on it? It's their money...it doesn't affect you...so why does it bother you?

Do you think that you spent money on anything that I would consider a waste? Lord, I hope so otherwise you're missing out.

Have a great day.

They are just complaining about the 45-65 quart cost, they haven't even looked at the cost of say a 350 quart Icy-tek (which is a fine box for offshore trips btw).

My wife bought me a 72Qt purple and gold Yeti for fathers day 3 or 4 years ago. She bought it because she knew I liked them but I didn't want to spend that much money on one for me. She bought it because I'm an awesome guy and she knew I would use it for tailgating. I have for 3 or 4 years and it has been awesome.

This weekend, we are going to a fishing camp for 3 days. Hmmm...should I bring my yeti or should I just make a couple of trips to the store for more ice? I'll have to think about that one as the OT thinks it would be stupid to own something that actually works pretty well.

F the haters.

You live in Columbus. Nobody expects you to be making enough money to buy one.

The fact that you spent at least $300 on something to put beer in while at the pool suggests otherwise.

The reason I use this one by the pool is because of the size. It's large enough to hold beer and plenty of water/juices/whatever for the kids as well.

Why am I trying to justify anything here? It's my money and I can do whatever the hell I want to with it. Damn, I fell into the trap.

I have a Hopper as well, that thing is awesome. Perfect for the beach to get people to stare and be pissed at your expensive ice chest to put drinks in. Some people just can't deal with the fact that your soft cooler holds ice for days and is made out of a white water raft.

In my opinion those that pay for them are crazy, and those that make fun of them are d-bags for worrying about how someone spends their money.

It's like having a new car showing it off impresses yourself.

Unfortunately, mine wont have any beer in it. Will need it to hold three racks of ribs, a brisket and a whole chicken for the BBQ competition were going to win Saturday.

I never understood the appeal of being so proud of owning a fricking ice chest that you you have to let everyone know you have one by the bumper sticker on your car.

It's pure marketing genius. I pray to come up with something so mundane that the whole world thinks is so special. For the record: I had two ice chests full of fish and ice. Got home and it was storming so I left them in the back of the truck overnight. One was a friends yeti and the other was my Coleman extreme. More ice in the Coleman the next day. Cost is more than half less.
