If I want to bring my Yeti out to the tailgate and not have to worry about ice at all, so be it. If I like having a large cooler that I can put out by the pool and have drinks stay ice cold all day, so be it.

If you are using it for a beer cooler then it won't keep ice much longer than a regular igloo or coleman. Keeping the lid shut on a fishing or hunting trip is what keeps it holding ice for days and is worth it for some people. Will never understand why someone uses one for a beer chest.

My tailgate is from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning.

I can fill the thing with ice and beer Friday afternoon and I am generally dumping a bit of ice out Sunday morning when I leave campus.

It gets opened frequently on Saturday.

This. I hear people telling me this but come Sunday when we are cleaning up...you open my chest and there is ice (not likely any beer but plenty of ice). You open up others and there is water. Whether or not you believe that to be true...doesn't matter to me.

Well, my Coleman wasn't getting it done.

It is aggravating to have to ask people to bring ice to a tailgate.

It's a long, hot walk and you genially lose about 50% of the ice.

well they have that golf cart pulling the ice machine around campus now so that makes it easier for those who need ice on Saturday afternoon/night.

It varies depending on the time of the game.

If its a day game, the ice chest will stay closed the hottest part of the day, so I'll have a good bit on Sunday still.

4 games in September last year was a boogerbear as far as heat was concerned.

mine stays in the back of my truck, it never comes out. It stays filled with beer, water and gatoraid 24/7. I add a 20 lb bag of ice once or twice a week.

I'm a fan of the yeti build. Seat a 250 pound man on top of an igloo for a few hours and see what you get. Seat that same man on a yeti for as long as you'd like and you'll never have a problem.

One time I had to throw my yeti over an 8 foot fence filled with beer and ice. No problems at all.

Throw that igloo over an 8 foot fence and see what happens.

Of course not, because you'd have to buy another cooler the next weekend.

Yeti owners can't afford chairs after their purchase?
