Yes it has but it’s probably worse for some others. We’re spending about $300 a month more than we were this time last year. That’s on groceries and gas and other things.
Yep, this right here. Gas prices are a killer, and it’s money right out of your pocket. Trump had gas under $2 a gallon. Biden is begging terrorist states for oil since he won’t open keystone. He fricking sucks.

It affects my business, which in turn affects me, and that which causes harm to the market and potentially my customer base negatively most assuredly affects me negatively, and it affects everyone’s value of their dollar as well. Only ignorant people argue to the contrary. If I take a hit to my GPM, then it means I am less profitable. If I raise prices to maintain the same GP, and sell less as a result, then that affects my business, and everyone who benefits from that negatively.
But even if it didn’t, higher prices most certainly causes every dollar to not go as far as before, so while I can afford to pay more, it surely means I pay more for everything I purchase, which in turn leaves me less at the end of the day than before. This surely can’t be earth shaking news to anyone, can it?

Today? No. But I am in my 50’s and have no debt and a large investment account and a 1 year emergency fund.
But at other times of my life - this would have been devastating to me.
I have had seasons where I was using credit cards to buy gas and hoping I could pay the minimum fee when the bill came.
I have had a 6 month period where I lived on the couch at my ex girlfriends best friends apartment because I had no money for rent because I spent it all on tuition and books.
I am not a big drinker, never done drugs, and plan as much as I can - but there are valleys to life and we can all be a few paychecks from broke when they happen.
Right now there are thousands of people (just like me in the past) who are working hard and can’t make ends meet in this moment. And idiot politicians who make decisions that only virtue signal - make me sick.
I feel bad for everyone suffering and for the media to afraid to cover it.

What’s going to hurt me the most and the soonest is the wild used car market. I’ll need a new car in the next year or so and I don’t think they’ll be coming down in pric that soon. If I can wait it out, there may be a glut of new cars if they can get this chip shortage figured out. I’m hoping to wait it out until then.

Don't you have an older Accord? Fix it and drive it another year or two. My wife's is 10 yrs old and we just had this discussion recently. It makes much more financial sense to just keep it running.
Her 2012 only has 80k miles on it though.

Yes, I have a 2010 with 145k. I maintain it welll, just had all my transmission, brake, and coolant changed 2 weeks ago. I HOPE to drive it another year at least but I don’t want to find myself in a spot where I have to get a car in a weekend and be forced to over pay. I’m going to drive it for awhile but if the transmission falls out improve or God Forbid a wreck, I’ll be in a spot. Anything under $1500, I’m getting repaired.
It’s been great so far but things can change quick with an older car.

New vehicles are too damn expensive.

Inflation is an indirect driver because it will result in raising interest rates (one of the only ways to fight back against inflation)
That will cause the artificially inflated stock market to have a massive crash that we have been putting off since 2008 with quantitative easing and very low interest rates.
A storm is coming
This, and none of us are prepared for it.
