NC has a lot going for it. I know a few folks who have winter homes down there in the Mountains, seems to be a less expensive option than the Southwest. The urban areas have more of a mid atlantic vibe than Southern IMO. Lots of transplants.

North Carolina has far more unspoiled beauty than many ecotourism destinations like Costa Rica for example.

There are about 4 or 5 houses on 321 in Blowing Rock adjacent to Canyons Restaurant that I want so, so badly. They have an absolutely phenomenal view,
