I'm mapping out a running route to go from the downtown area to Audubon. It's been a while since I went that way but I seem to remember from the overpass about 6 blocks west had a good bit of homeless and loitering going on. Has that been cleaned up or should I find another route?

Not like it was 40 years ago. Completely safe now.

Running during the day or at night?

During the day 100% fine. At night just notice people, won't get robbed but homeless people may yell gibberish at you.

They took down the Robert E Lee Statue.

It's perfectly safe now, why would you even ask.

Daytime, morning specifically.

Did they clear out the homeless camps recently? I see in November DOTD ran them off because one started a fire that damaged the bridge pile.

Different area. The homeless aren't going to frick with you if you are running through. They just yell random things out into the world. St Charles has never had a camp built there. They were on OC Haley and down at Tchoup.

How far are you looking to run? All the way up St Charles and back?

Daytime not really for just running through.
Nighttime little bit sketchy but not bad.

If you have to start a thread to figure out if it's sketchy or not, probably best to run somewhere else

Got it, that must be where I'm thinking of.

Yep, up St Charles, around Audubon Park, and back. I've done it from the opposite direction (laps around Audubon, down St Charles, then turn around and retrace my steps) but I stopped at Jackson when I ran it that way.

I did this from right about the overpass several times recently. It was pretty nice. Never to far from a homeless person no matter where you are in the downtown area.

I've walked through there plenty in daylight. No prob. Yes there are homeless but most are pretty chill.

Yes.

You don’t have to ask. If it’s in New Orleans, it sketchy.
