Fort Worth says hello

I love Fort Worth but even they are being infiltrated by Californianans.

you're right. I don't know what I was thinking

I can respect that. But it seems like most of the "just need what keeps me alive, mannn" folks I meet come from wealthy backgrounds. I guess everything gets old after awhile.

Austin has significantly less thugs than any other Texas city.
True except for Ft. Worth.

100% true. Everyone I've met or known who had that attitude grew up with a silver spoon.

There are small pockets of L.A. County that are pretty good to live if you don't have to deal with a commute but generally I agree.

I must have gone during the alignment of the stars. When I visited NYC, the people were incredibly nice, generous, and helpful.

LA is like a bigger Houston with perfect weather, an ocean, and hills

In between consumerism and minimalism, there's a whole lot of territory.

Bring plenty of money and London is a wonderful European city.

i've always thought of the LA area as somewhere that would be great to live, but meh to visit.

I don't know why it gets such a bad rap.

So completely different
The only things that are common is they're big cities with a ton of traffic

Most overrated city in Louisiana is Lafayette.
Most overrated city in U.S. is Los Angeles. What you see on TV is such a small part of L.A. The vaste majority is traffic, homeless people and smog.

Austin... it's just a corporatized, advertisement of its former self.

As someone born and raised in LA, I'll tell you this is 100% true. What makes it such a great place to live is the variety of things to do. It's probably the best major metro area in the country to live in. Excellent weather, good culture, the ocean and mountainous areas. Traffic sucks, but that goes for every big city.
All that said, I don't really see the appeal for someone to vacation in LA.
