Why even mention him as a solo artist? Or it that only when it’s convenient? You can’t have it both ways.
You said:

He has multiple platinum records and is in the rock and roll hall of fame. Not that I even care about those stats, but you are the one who brought up his popularity. One hit wonders don’t sell platinum records over and over, and continue to sell out arenas. What an asinine statement to make.
You mentioned him as a solo artist, not me. He has no platinum records (only one gold) and he's not in the Hall. His other two bands, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, have no platinum or gold records. The White Stripes have two and are in the Hall. If you want to split him apart from that band, don't act like I did it. If you want to talk about hits as a solo artist, his only two Billboard charting songs were on songs from Beyonce and Alicia Keys. He's vastly overrated, I'm surprised all of you people are so up in arms about it.

And you sound like a moron, I've never used the terms politard or shitlib in my life. This thread is mostly about how much Jack White sucks as a musician, his TDS was mentioned once. Yours is chronic.
I wish I weren’t such a retard after seeing you show off your big brain.

Well, there's no known cure for TDS, so you'll be a retard for life. Sorry.

Doesn’t take away from it being a good show

I'm glad people enjoyed it. I thought it was decent although I'm not really a fan of either artist. I probably would prefer those two over Bad Bunny.

No, You used his name to imply that his whole body of work includes just one hit when you said:
quote:
Jack White is also an overrated one hit wonder.
Unless you weren’t referring to “Seven Nation Army” as his one hit. And nobody will believe that. You did not say “The White Stripes are a one hit wonder.” His whole body of work includes 3 platinum records. And you are now trying to backtrack and start talking about his solo career when you were called out on such a dumb statement. Even though he also has a platinum record as a solo artist.
Either own what you said or shut up.

It does not. The two singles above went platinum. The White Stripes have two platinum records. Jack White has one gold record. Go argue with the RIAA.

I’m not gonna argue over gold vs platinum.
Just so we are all clear - According to you, the guy who has 2 platinum records, a gold record, sells out arenas currently, rock and roll hall of fame, is a “one hit wonder.”
A one hit wonder is someone like Duncan Sheik with “Barely Breathing.” You put Jack White in that same category.
What do you think “wonder” means in that phrase?

You're fixated on one-hit wonder. My bad, he's had two hits with The White Stripes, none as a solo artist. Duncan Sheik has the same number of gold records as Jack and "Barely Breathing" charted higher on Billboard than anything in White's career. He's overrated. As an artist, a guitar player and a songwriter. He shouldn't be anywhere near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If you like him, great, enjoy. Have a good day, time for Black Friday shopping.

He is also the founder of The Raconteurs.
The highest chart position for the song "Steady, as She Goes" by The Raconteurs was number one on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song also reached number four in both the UK and Denmark.
As a solo artist, his track "That's How I'm Feeling" became his first solo number one on the Alternative Airplay chart in late 2024, surpassing his previous solo peak of number two with "Taking Me Back".

JFC, you are still melting? Your reaction is softer than gosling down.
Your arguments are drowning, and you continue to reinforce my initial two observations. The unforced errors are bordering on epic level. Go do some retail therapy and buy something to take your mind off this thread.

I've been using the Billboard Hot 100, which is the industry standard, and the RIAA Gold & Platinum database.

You wanna hear some really shitty music, then listen to the Billboard top 100. Almost all trash. For the most part, good new music is not played on the radio.

I’m done. You’ve shown your arse.

When a band like Iron Maiden gets snubbed year after year, the place has no legitimacy.

quote:Agree with you here which is why the R&R HoF is irrelevant to discussions about popularity and/or impact. Not saying.don't know if you're the one that brought it up, but who cares who's in and who isn't? There are a dozen bands that get overlooked for every band inducted.
