Why are any of you surprised by this? Did y’all actually think it would be a full blown Phase 3 reopen? Every level headed person here has said it would be a declared Phase 3 with restrictions.

There was a pretty big jump in cases in NOLA (and then quick decrease) when Tulane went back to campus. That gave Latoya her datapoint to extend restrictions until at least October.

No one was going to be happy unless it was a full blown reopen. I get it but it wasn’t realistic based on past decisions.

How about just be honest.
We aren't even in Phase 2 right now. Why announce that we are going to Phase 3 when it won't actually be Phase 3 beyond PR bullshite?

Out of prudence should've probably waited to instate Phase 3 until 2 weeks after Labor Day... no way to know the increase in infection this soon after the holiday weekend. Probably a number of infected/exposed people out there that have no idea. Guess we'll see.
