Very sad. I saw him perform after the Nashville country music marathon. He was pretty amazing.

My paw paw had his funeral paid for, his burial plot and 5 extras for family members that might need them and instructions for it to be toned down and not elaborate
my dad did this also, I plan on doing mine this summer. Just less stress on the family

Kenny didn’t fry no chicken. It was roasted.

A few mentions of "We've Got Tonight," but let's not forget his duet partner, Sheena Easton. She looked amazing back then. But he also had some great duets with Dottie West. My favorite though is Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer with Kim Carnes.

And listening to Kenny and Dolly's last duet together will be bittersweet.

You Can't Make Old Friends

What will I do when you are gone?
Who's gonna tell me the truth?
Who's gonna finish the stories I start
The way you always do?

When somebody knocks at the door
Someone new walks in
I will smile and shake their hands
But you can't make old friends

You can't make old friends
Can't make old friends
It was me and you, since way back when
But you can't make old friends

How will I sing when you are gone?
Cause it wont sound the same
Who will join in on those harmony parts
When I call your name?

You can't make old friends
Can't make old friends
It was you and me, since way back when
But you can't make old friends

When Saint Peter opens the gate
And you come walking in
I will be there just waiting for you
Cause you can't make old friends
Cause you can't make old friends

When I am out on the stage all alone
And I hear the music begin
We all know the show must go on
But you can't make old friends

You can't make old friends
Can't make old friends
And you and me, will be young again
You can't make old friends

You and me, will be together again
Cause we both know, we will still be old friends

You can't make old friends
Not the way we have always been

Well you should make as many preparations as possible before getting hit by a bus. I have mine in order so my wife and or kids can deal with it without it being a clsterfck.

And Don Henley was signed to a record deal by Kenny Rogers early on before he became The Eagles.

I respect a man who can face reality and take care of his business to reduce the burden on his loved ones after he's gone.

My first concert was Kenny Rogers at the Louisiana State Fair in Shreveport in 1978.
