I worked with a man who had had a transplant in his 20s. His blood pressure was so high it destroyed his kidneys. He received a transplant from his brother. Fast forward thirty plus years and I see he is still working a productive life in a company he founded. Good luck!

I've found, unfortunately, it seems my brother is not interested in helping. In every area of support through the process he's been unwilling. As the saying goes "it is what it is". There's been a large enough support network to make up for it. I think things will turn out better and soon. Dialysis is just a pothole I hit along the way because my body hates me.
Thank you for sharing about somebody you knew and how well he's doing to this day. All positive news is welcome in this thread. I've joined a lot of Facebook groups (begrudgingly, just because it means more time on social media I try to avoid!) and really find hope in the many success stories.
