One time is one time too many for your home to be invaded. I would rather be prepared and ready protect myself and my family.

It's Louisiana bro...

You could be living in a great subdivision with awesome neighbors and still be just a few streets over from a rough neighborhood or trailer park.

While I do not live there personally, the Gardere area is a perfect example of nice homes being just a few hundred yards from some of the most dangerous parts of BR

Is your opinion that I should experience a home invasion before I prepare to defend myself against a home invasion?

I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

3 out of 5 people I know in BR have had their garages, cars in the driveway, or homes broken into.

Sad story. The mom was helping an elderly neighbor across the street when the boys found the gun.

That is fricking irresponsible. If you have a loaded gun in the house, you tell everyone in the family and teach them about guns.

I know an officer from BRPD who had her house broken into while she was having dinner with her husband. All of her guns were stolen including her service pistol. Her patrol car was SITTING in the driveway.

They lived in BR at the time

Even if your kid is well versed on gun safety and can recite word for word the safety rules on the back of a shotgun shell box, they shouldn't have free access to the guns.

That's just my opinion.

Exactly. Posters in here talking about loaded guns easily in reach of their kids, but it is A-OK because their kid knows better than to touch it. You're a fricking terrible parent if that is your attitude. For the love of God, please teach your children gun safety AND keep them away from them.

My gun safety is simple, they require a key or my fingerprint to get to them.

Do you have any kind of insurance for anything?

Methinks you're probably 18 years old.
