Just because some lesbians coached a softball team does not equal homosexual pedos coaching baseball. Unfortunately it can happen and as someone else pointed out it has happened.. but I seriously doubt that's the norm. Definitely wouldn't want Luke Heimlich coaching.

One of best coaches I ever had was this way in Shreveport. Played college baseball and wanted to give back.

I've coached three of my kids through youth soccer from U5-U9, I refuse to coach beyond that point because the parents become assholes. That's also the age where I encourage my kids to branch out (one in wrestling and one in volleyball/track).
My third has maybe a year left before I think he's going to want to shift to baseball, but I'm considering continuing coaching as a way to give back - it's rewarding and there's never enough volunteers. Plus I can't coach baseball worth a shite.

It's strange how so many people who post here think of pedos so often.
Some people just enjoy the game.

Yeah, I thought it was weird also. It was the reason for the thread just because of the Hawaii coaches' not having any children that play. Even though the head guy has been the coach for 30 years or more.
It definitely would not have been in the top of my thoughts about the subject. BUT, I never played or coached travel ball. In all of my experience the coaches are only around the players during practice and games and are never alone with any of them besides their own children.

Nice to see that the usual suspects in here can’t imagine a non-parent adult giving a shite about children.

Exactly! But I also see where it could potentially be weird.
