It’s really not bad. Definitely quiet, but not as much to do depending on what you enjoy. Plenty of hunting and fishing, but Wichita is the only “big” city unless you include the Kansas portion of Kansas City. It’s a great place to raise a family, in my opinion.

You are supposed to have a license to chase tornadoes, but you won’t be the only person out there chasing them if you choose to.

My recommendation would be to hit up Lawrence during college basketball season and go to a KU game. If you’re going in the summer and stay near KC, you can hit up a Sporting KC game (in Kansas), and then catch a Royals game (in Missouri) pretty cheap.

A license? As in a driver's license?

I may be misremembering. A guy in high school worked as a part-time radio guy. They wouldn’t let him chase until he had something. Not sure if that was a radio station policy or something else.

Hey now, don’t confuse Kansas with Missouri.

I know I need a small vacation but it don't look like rain. And if it snows that stretch down south won't ever stand the strain.

I have to go to Wichita every year. It’s worse than Baton Rouge if that tells you anything.

Lived in Kansas 5 years and Lawrence is probably the best place. Topeka,Manhattan, and Wichita suck. The whole state pretty much is shite but I liked Lawrence okay.

Tumbleweed is not common in eastern Kansas and Texas; more prevalent further west in more arid conditions.

It’s really not that bad of a place

No it’s not Austin or Houston or whatever other major city but there’s enough here, it’s relatively safe, and the people are nice.
