Another bizarre weapon the Germans developed was called the “Windkanone”, which translates to “wind cannon”. Yes. They looked at the feasibility of shooting down planes with bursts of wind.

They also tried creating a “tornado” gun to shoot down bombers by creating mini-tornados.

The Atlantic port city of Savannah, Georgia is further west than Youngstown, Ohio.

When the Great Pyramids of Egypt were being built woolly mammoths still roamed the Earth.

Egyptian queen Cleopatra lived closer in time to the invention of the iPhone than she did to the building of the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Not to be outdone by the Germans, the British also had their own outlandish ideas for weapons during World War II. One of these ideas was for a massive aircraft carrier made of a mixture of wood pulp and ice they called “pykrete”. The program was called “Project Habakkuk”.

I know it's hard finding out your idols have feet of clay.

I hope this can serve as a learning moment for you.

In its first two months after the free-to-play release, Fortnight gamers spent 2.7 billion hours playing ... roughly 400x what it took to build the Empire State Building.
