This is just the right-wingers' version of "current thing" that they make fun of leftists for.
The minimalist style of the 21st century is the new version of Brutalist architecture designed to destroy individualism and remove joy from life. Beat down the population and promote communism.

I am curious…how the Chile’s do it?
I think Chillis, Red Lobster, Applebees and Olive Garden are all basically the same general group of investors, some the same company, Darden. Probably Steak n Shake similar to them.
And I know they support traditional work ethic, and probably not DEI horse shite, and they've survived.
They're not perfect, but they've survived while a shite ton of fricktards have
failed.
btw, the owner of In N Out burger is tired of the woke shite in California and is moving her base to Tennessee. So we're all going to get In N Out Burgers on the horizon.

I guess I'm done with cracker barrel
I argued with my own mother over it, and it was actually a bit heated.
She called and said "will you meet me at Cracker Barrel for breakfast?" And I said, "absolutely, and when I get there, you get in my car and we're driving down the road to (not mentioned mom and pop breakfast place)"
She was mad and she found out real quick I didn't care. I hugged her and kissed her a few extra times and we ate at the mom-and-pop diner.

quote:Some of y'all need to learn the definition of Marxism if you're going to complain about it. I'm not a Marxist either, but it has a meaning other than "thing I dislike." I'll give you a hint: it isn't particularly compatible with large private businesses.
What we are tired of are these American iconic brands continually being modernized and ruined by what I call corporate Marxism.
quote:That's called "capitalism." It's literally what's been happening to large businesses in capitalist systems all over the world once they go public for the past several decades. The people who run the businesses are completely alienated from them as anything other than investments. They only care about making sure the line goes up every quarter, so sometimes they make dumb choices that reveal how out of touch with the average person they are.
completely revamp the image into plain and boring and “non offensive” and we are left with no uniqueness, no individuality. Just bland and corporate. Service goes to shite, cut corners on ingredients so food quality goes to shite, there’s no unique experience for customers. And it’s not just restaurants, this mindset has ruined music, sports, movies, just countless things that Americans used to love and enjoy and they continually ruin all of it.
There’s no uniqueness or individuality anymore. Just make everything bland and the same to try to make more profit and not offend anyone.

And?
Someone with a marketing degree came up with the old branding you loved.
No dipshit, the Evins family did.

quote:Yes, yes, I'm sure that McDonald's, being the multi-billion dollar publicly traded multinational corporation that it is, is very interested in promoting communism, a political and economic philosophy that calls for the nationalization of all such firms and violent revolution against the power of capital.
Beat down the population and promote communism.

Jesus Christ you triggered little pu&&:@& will cry about anything. It’s a freaking logo, they changed it because the old one was fine for billboards but really sucks for digital marketing. Sized down to standard 300x250 cube ad and it looks like arse, the old man and the barrel get too small to see any detail and the brand name becomes smaller. The new one is formatted just about perfectly for cube ads, interstitial ads and social media feeds. The company name is prominent and they kept the familiarity of the color scheme and the font used in the name. By the way, I haven’t searched or looked up why they changed it because you don’t have to, it’s freaking obvious that the new logo was made to play better with digital marketing. Don’t worry the food at Cracker Barrel will still suck as bad as it always has. I hope every one of you that’s crying about it gets seated next to a male Vikings Cheerleader next time you go out to eat.

For something that is about digital marketing, you seem awfully convinced that everyone who laments about the change is just a soft baw.

No, I'm just someone who feels a weird combination of humor and frustration when I see others describing a move by a large corporation designed to increase it's profitability being described as "Marxist."
Are some people in the corporate leadership class horribly out of touch with their customers? Yep.
Do their efforts to widen their customer bases sometimes backfire? Sure.
If the "blandification" of life in general something that bothers me too? Yes.
Is it because of Marxism in large corporations? No, of course not.
