Same ol shite.
Looks like you've bounced back and doing well. Can't believe those trials aren't all the way finished with.(unless they did recently and I didn't notice)

Still have one more to go. The defense attorney has a hearing about the constitutionality of a conviction without all 12 jurors agreeing, something only LA and a couple other states allow. He's using our case as his platform which is bullshite but I honestly stopped giving a frick.

My understanding of it would be that you would own the land under the water, but not the water itself, if that makes sense.
So someone walking or driving on your land would still be trespassing, but someone boating in and out on the water would be in the clear.
So what happens if you get out of the boat in waders and walk along the bottom? Is the property owner liable for injuries to boaters accessing water within a plot of land they own?

It's 10 of the 12 in Louisiana and Oregon. I don't ageee with it honestly but is what it is. Pretty sure both states brought it on the books with partially racist motives, but I'm no attorney or student of the law so who knows.
Eta: maybe we can hook up over carnival or whatever if you around for a drink or two

That is a great idea and all, but it's not even close to the law, and should has no place in this discussion.
You act as if the law had never changed. Just because the law is what it is today, doesn't mean it can't change.
I couldn't care less but this thread is about a "petition" to change the law. Got it dummy?

petition is dumb. I don't understand why people are mad they can't trespass on other people's property

did you dig the canal or not.
page 1 you say you didn't
now you say you did.
I don't think you even have a lease

I believe he was speaking in hypotheticals.

Put an arrow pointing to your lease. I'll go moon the game cam and rub my nuts all over the locks
Posted on 1/25/17 at 1:28 pm to Corkfather
I really don't care about the petition as I only hunt when invited with others. Even then I turn it down half the time as its not my passion.
When I go fishing I will go where my boat can float.
worry about people crying later.

The canals and ponds on our lease were dug by the previous leesee, we maintain them.

not trying to highjack but my sister (no pics) and her husband is going camping at Indian creek sat. What are the primitive sites like over there. I may stop and join them sat night on my way back from shreveport.

Been years since I was there, but picnic tables and fire rings or camp pits out on a peninsula. Lots of trees around to hang hammocks. If you put a kayak in there, I found better fishing to the left.
Of course it could be different, since I was there in the early 1990's.

And they contribute to land loss!

If your pond is connected to public waterways (which are defined as a body of water that does not entirely reside on your property), then your pond belongs to the public and the public can hunt and fish your public pond. They are not trespassing until they get out of the public waterway and onto your private land.
This is unequivocally false.
It appears that Louisiana has different laws than Alabama and Georgia.
With that being the case I have to disagree with the law and think it should be overturned. The water and fish that are within property boundaries that you own are a part of the public trust and should be made available to the public. I have similar opinions of high fenced areas for deer.
