Stopped reading when he said he moved out of the hood to "south" Baton Rouge. Hypocrite much?
Posted on 7/12/16 at 9:31 pm to Charlie Arglist
He probably lives in Gardere to make an impact there.

Not one single solution suggested. Par for the course.
And he didn't move to South BR because of her job. That's bullshite.

He's a very nice guy. Just full of it here.

Prof. Tyson was one of my favorites. Really intelligent guy and about as laid back as a law professor could get. But I didn't enjoy the article.

Maybe a little. But he has a point.

Too many view the lives of people in north Baton Rouge as the cumulative result of poor choices, weak values and dependency. This is more than just lazy thinking. It’s an intolerable lie predicated on the erasure of all of our city’s and nation’s history. Like many urban communities, north Baton Rouge is the result of specific policy choices, social patterns and the toll that all of it eventually takes on neighborhoods, families and individuals. It’s a very American story of how black people have systematically been denied the opportunity to live in safe and stable neighborhoods. No amount of “individual responsibility” or “bootstrapping” will ever change that.
Did a certain amount of responsibility and bootstrapping not allow him or his father to live safe stable lives relative to their neighborhood of origin?

Not really. His point is to blame everyone but the community he considers so downtrodden, even beginning his diatribe by dismissing the impact that personal responsibility plays in the success of a community. He moves the goalpost to give himself a fighting chance. Unfortunately I have a brain so I'm not buying it.

He won't ask or answer the real question: what has caused these neighborhoods to be unsafe and unstable?
Hint: the answer is what he dismissed as a solution at the beginning

Spit it out. What do you think it is? Say it out loud if you are going to say it.

He's completely unbiased. It's not like he's run as a democrat for statewide office in LA

What a clown. It is utterly amazing to me how about 99.5 of African Americans can't see what's right in front of their eyes in the video

How about you read my reply to your earlier post.

This one? Are you saying that North Baton Rouge's problems are the fault of the people who live there?
No shite, you aren't being very clear. He was pretty clear.

This one? Fire up some of that grey matter and say what you are trying to say.

Yes, yes I am. If that wasn't clear enough for you, I can't help you.
He was pretty clear on dismissing personal responsibility from the word Go. Hence moving the goalpost. He then went on to blame lack of adequate public transportation, malnutrition and a host of other buzz words for the plight of NBR.
He refuses to have an honest conversation.

Not my question, Cochise. He's made clear what he thinks the problem is. Exactly what do you think it is?
