My brother had it and said it changed his life and he didn’t have back problems anymore. He also called me a few months back and said he had an appointment with the back doc because his sciatica was so bad he couldn’t function.
I’m laid out today with a back spasm and still not thinking any surgery is a good idea. My liver and heart are prob destroyed from steroid shots and muscle relaxers, so maybe my wife will hit life insurance payday before the kids are in college.

I had a laminectomy on 12/27/21. For months after surgery I kept feeling like I was in worse pain than before surgery. Finally did an MRI in April after getting to the point where I could not lay flat and could sleep in a recliner and would have to talk myself into getting up to take a piss because it hurt so bad to put weight on my left leg. They called me three hours after MRI and said go to hospital because I had a staph infection in my spine. Spent a week in the hospital and two months on IV antibiotics. That didn’t work so I had to get a debridement and two level fusion in July with another work in the hospital and two more months if IV antibiotics. It is now March 2023 and still taking oral antibiotics. Had to use a walker then a Cain and now nothing. I will never be the same.
Damn Joe...praying for you ol buddy.

And go to a chiropractor. “Doctors” don’t know anything about the spine while chiros study everything about it
Neurosurgeons know everything about the spine. They spent 7 years of training after medical school learning how to decompress nerves and eliminate stenosis.
Chiropracters are complete frauds.

Gaucho is a parody account (a very dedicated one).
And yes I agree. Chiropractors say and do absurd things.

It’s easy for other people to tell you not to get surgery when the pain isn’t in their back. I had fusion of L3,4,5. Have a new normal but you know when you’ve had enough of dealing with it.

I have 3 bulging discs in c3,4,5 and my arm was tingling and numb. Got a cervical injection that helped, then dr wanted to so nerve ablation 2x to prove insurance effective, then a third permanently.
Day before i cancelled...felt likw it was a spiral down i didnt want any part of.
Have made some changes to my lifestyle and am WAY more cognizant of not acting a fool and immediately addressing issues. Deal with disomfort and light pain, but not ready to take that plunge yet.

We must have the same doctor. New normal were the exact words my doctor used to describe my life post fusion.

Mine stays on. I just put some black tape over it.
