So, I cracked a tooth when I hit my head falling off the jet ski a couple weeks back. Went in for exam and was trying to push off the repair until 1st week of November for a couple reasons. It was tender over the weekend and called to make appt for end of this week.
Hurt yesterday pretty badly and had some weird swelling ( quarter sized lump in upper gumline and left eye) but went to drills anyway bc weather was so awesome. 1 hour into drills and the pain was so bad that I left and went straight to dentist. They immediately called the oral surgeon in and within an hour things went crazy.
Oral surgeon said I was a couple hours from being admitted to the hospital and possible brain infection. Infection had filled all of my left upper gum and sinus cavity. Was moving into eye socket then to brain.
She drained it, pulled the tooth and called in antibiotics. I’m allergic to the one I need so will be taking Benadryl all week with it.
Moral of the story - don’t put off dentist appt. I was “this” close to a brain infection.

Honestly didn’t know about the danger zone thing before this. Upper jaw and sinus infections will never be delayed by me again. Lesson learned.

My husband and I had some joint accounts, some separate. Played hell getting $ from an old credit union account in Louisiana, even AFTER I had been through probate (in an other state) and had official document listing me as sole heir. . CU told me I would have to go through probate in Louisiana as well!!! Plus, the CU attorney was a dick and rude. Finally, I found ONE person at the CU who figured out a way for me to access the funds and close the account. I sent her a thank you email praising her for her help. She responded with how nice it was to receive thanks. Many months later, I had trouble getting tax documents, and guess who I called and who was happy to help???
I am sorry you are going through hassles, because I know how hard it is to function when also grieving, especially so fresh. …and having to jump through hoops makes it all worse.
I don’t know the personal,situation (kids? Step kids? That sort of thing) so no idea if that is where the roadblock is…..Definitely you will need multiple death certificates because everyone everywhere wants a certified copy. Good luck to you.
