It really is out of control. I've been having some somewhat serious discussions with friends about nil and the portal and what the future holds for colleges, especially the size of ASU. We cannot compete with big schools. I think it's going to ultimately lead to a bifurcated NCAA. Or maybe an additional bifurcation...
And I completely believe that these football players are getting less education than they did even 5 years ago. And I thought that's what was supposed to matter?

But it's not the player's fault. They're taking advantage of what's being offered to them. As crazy as it sounds, it's the NCAA who has made these decisions. And they haven't made a good decision in about 20 years. What kind of education do we think a player is getting when they are at four colleges in 4 years or five colleges in 5 years and I'm eliminating the silly covid year and Junior college decision they made last year.

The days of the NCAA are numbered. I think the traditional powerhouse football schools will form their own league at some point, with their own rules. Not sure what that means for the smaller schools….which is unfortunate.
