He just has 2-3 races left before retirement.
And plenty of time to hit the joints before each one (the reason he skipped the Preakness).
Classic, maybe Pegasus, World Cup, retirement to make plenty of babies to break down.

When the ladies were chatting this week I lamented the loss of long distance races. Thoroughbred breeding is supposed to be about speed AND distance.
Other thing lamented was horses breeding too soon and killing public interest in careers with the young kids and regular fans.

Year round hemisphere breeding was not the best idea in my book.
