Location - Tropicana- Las Vegas
Me, my wife, our 2 dogs, some officiate of an unknown denomination, and a photographer. Photographer and wedding chapel representative were witnesses.
Limo Service to Courthouse and Rental shop for tux and gown, rental of the wedding chapel for a half hour, rental of tux and gown, flowers and a roll of pictures ~$250
Wedding reception, lemon pound cake and coffee at Einstein's Bagles while waiting for film to be developed ~$15
Being able to go after the wedding to the New York New York Casino sports book to watch football, then dinner and a show after wedding. - priceless.
Would not change any of it.

It was largeish I guess. No clue how many attended.
It was a great party. Would do it 10 times over again.

Still paying for ours.
This I don't understand. I can't imagine getting in the hole for a party. I don't know what a single thing from my wedding cost. Wait, I was in charge of the band...so I know what that cost.

why would i have to do that?

Go big, you won't regret it. It is a special time to have all of your friends and family together - and party.

Friend had a "honey-do" shower. I had never heard of it. It was basically a shower specifically for the groom with all useful gifts. No need for fancy china, give me a new impact set!

I'm not married but I like what a friend did....
Had a service at a Mexico pacific beach house. Just family and close friends. 30 people tops.
Got back to Houston and had a big country club party with everyone else.
Fun vacation coupled with a fun night with friends.

Did you get hasseled by all the street hustlers trying to sell you better packages? We did and got a good laugh out of it.

Good reason. I was insensitive and I apologize. My wife says she would have been fine with a very small wedding. But she probably wouldn't have been if that was the only option.

My brother married a poor girl and my dad had to pick up the bill for the wedding. I told him he was crazy

Ours was about 40 people (Family, close friends, kids) in Gulf Shores.
It was quick and easy on the beach behind our beach house.
The night before we had a rehearsal dinner at Cobalt and the house was catered after the ceremony.
It might have cost 5k max.
