Memphis has had large growth with Hispanics as well. They aren’t about to jump the black population, but it’s definitely noticeable.

This is true, but the population of these areas are growing due to more ghetto people coming in from Metro proper. Union City is one of the largest growing "suburb cities" in the nation.

Yeah but Memphis isn't a desirable city. A lot of the broke unskilled Blacks in Atlanta gonna be pushed to places like Memphis because it isn't desirable. Memphis is still cheap but of course it's cheap for a reason. You can still rent in Memphis for less than 1K ... that's almost impossible in the Atlanta area ... even in the worst parts

Everybody I know in Union City (all Black) hate it. The southern Fulton county suburbs are all ghetto, bad leadership, schools terrible,, and lack amenities. But I feel Hispanics will take them over and improve them real soon

Atlanta always had great potential but it's finally being realized in the 21st century. The BeltLine, the downtown revitalization, APS improvements, improving suburbs, improving airport, the other economic improvement projects have all catapulted Atlanta into one of the most desirable major US metros. In my opinion surpassing NYC, LA, Chicago, DC, and most other major cities
Absolutely.

Gwinnett has a large Hispanic population, but there are also a lot of Indians, Asians, and Koreans. About the only thing still going in Gwinnett Place mall is Mega Mart, a large Korean grocery.
The actual city of Atlanta, which is much smaller than the metro area, is changing too. Black mayors are no longer assured. Blacks are moving out, while white, Asian, and Hispanic numbers are increasing.

The majority of southern blacks will be living in small towns in the next 20 years.

That's where the majority were before the big urbanization push in the 60s and 70s. Pendulum is just swinging back They won't be in small towns as much as they will be in medium size metros like a Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Augusta, Columbus, on and so forth.

Andre Dickens is black but so far he's been fricking excellent.
Also, as of 2024, population of Atlanta proper is 520,070

You must be liberal. Yeah I like he completed Cop City but he's corrupt. I read about how the Inspector General of Atlanta quit because she was constantly being harassed for doing her job of exposing the disturbing levels of corruption and theft of his administration. It's never good to put Black Democrats in leadership ... it'll always be a shite show. Black Republicans are much better. If it wasn't for the Republican White corporate interest influencing Dickens and the other Black leaders ... Atlanta would look like Detroit and Memphis

Nope.
I just think he's done a good job.

As has every mayor of Atlanta the last 40 years or so.
Still doesn't mean they can't be a good mayor. Kasim Reed was corrupt AF but he was a very good mayor, ran it with an iron fist. Same with Dickens. They're not mutually exclusive.

Agreed. But that's also a good thing
Dickens and Kemp are also in lock-step, which again is a good thing.

I am a big Kemp supporter. Love his politics. I'm so glad Georgia is red and it looks like it will stay that way. If it wasn't Atlanta would be headed in the wrong direction.

I voted for him.
Wish he wasn't termed out. He's the best governor of my lifetime (I'm 44) aside from Zell.

Lol Newnan is cooked and always has been other than a few pockets close to downtown.
