There is no possibility of a eutopian society where everybody has plenty, r at least thinks they have plenty. Some will always have more than others. In the US the. “poor” are often obese from consuming too many calories while having free housing, healthcare, groceries, etc. They also have free access to internet along with cell phones and big screen TV’s., yet they are “poor”.
It was a stupid experiment to allow these people into Europe. I used to work with an atheist from Nepal who would degrade Christianity telling us it was the greatest problem in the world, etc, etc. When the taliban took over large swaths of Afghanistan in ‘99 or 2000 they started blowing up bhudist or Hindu monuments that had been there for 1000’s of years. He couldn’t believe it, and was legitimately shaken by it. We asked if he wanted to rearrange the order of the most destructive religions.
“Finbar Sullivan” is probably a generation or two removed from Ireland. He is the product of immigrants to England as well. The assimilation of the Irish, Welsh, and continental Euro’s was probably a little better than sub Saharan Africans though. It’s obvious that allowing third worlders who don’t share your culture, religion, etc. is a failed experiment.
I doubt Paula White has much input with Trump, but it’s a bad look nonetheless. Trump does not understand true Christians which is what has led him to this choice. He sees an attractive woman who is a “pastor” and thinks that will play well. I would rather Trump have found some country minister from the middle of nowhere for this position. They would have been a far better choice, but I doubt they would have any influence either.
I promise we won’t skip Poseidon. Wife and I are both Poseidon addicts. I eat there every time I visit. Haven’t had Poor Boys in a while, but I always loved the food, and I like going to those old places that take you back.
Dupre always got a lot of grief for not living up to his hype. A large part of that was coming to LSU during the Miles era where he got little development. I also always felt he had a lot of natural abilities and a good physique, but maybe football just wasn’t a huge passion to him. I remember an article while he was here that he loved to go fishing any chance he got. I’m glad to see he is doing well for himself.
I appreciate all the recs on sushi. This definitely helps.
We may go to Dwight’s. We used to go there back when we lived down there 20+ years ago. I guess they’re still going strong.

Yep. Kinda what I’m thinking. Throw some red meat to your crazies at home.

Best sushi restaurant in Lafayette.

Heading down to Lafayette in a few weeks and planning on hitting Old Tyme, Poseidons, and maybe Poor Boys. My kid is big on sushi rolls, though, so wanted to see about recs from the board. May try another place other than Poor Boys and just do crawfish. Any suggestions on crawfish would be appreciated too.
Just tax the crap out of money transfers going out of country.
Not saying it’s him or not, but the pic of Gallego sitting on the bench with black Nikes is edited with shoes added.
I think there’s a chance they don’t go to off the rails with this. Netflix did a remake of Anne of Green Gables and I don’t remember them going to crazy with it. May have added a black family in the community, but that was about it. That was 8 years ago though, so who knows.
If it’s Cruz, we will finally get the wise Latino to trump the wise Latina.
She posted her disappointment in Trumps tweet that showed him as Jesus. He has claimed since then that he didn’t mean it to be Jesus, but a doctor??? I don’t know how to create pictures for tweets so not sure if that’s true or he realized, after the fact, that this post was a bad idea. Just more unnecessary dumbness.
This will attract the kind of people you want to your state. HIV pill commercials in IL about to to quadruple.

You hit the nail on the head. If we are going to try and fix something let’s focus on domestically. Sending money to third world countries turns into a money laundering scheme most of the time, not to mention, warlords often steal any food/relief that does make it through. Importing third worlders doesn’t work either. I am not against importing some skilled labor if we absolutely have to have it due to shortages, but allowing in unskilled is just adding to the welfare state and prison populations.
One of my great, great grandfathers was part of a troop sent to Indian territory to recruit the Cherokee Indians to help fight the Union. Many of them would go on to fight with the confederacy. The civil war was very complex.
