FWIW, most of the posers I've seen on Youtube appear mentally afflicted. I'm former AC officer and now NG, and the idea of Stolen Valor made me PO'd. But after watching a some of these videos, I feel sorry for 'em. (Just my opinion).

The streets will be extended gutters and the gutters will be full of blood. When the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up at us and shout "Save us!"... and we'll whisper in return "No.... we're too old now. You didn't care then, why should we care now?"

I believe you're right and it saddens me for our future.

He's a 007 Army SEAL. Shaving doesn't apply to him.

I know you're talking to the trolls on this one, but, do any of you military guys actually think this way? I know you're proud of your service (as you should be), but, do you ever look down on guys that didn't serve or have some secretive judgment b/c they didn't "do their part?"

I can only speak for myself. We only need folks who are motivated and dedicated. The military is a calling. We have enough dead weight as it is, unfortunately. People joining for the wrong reasons, etc.

What we don't tolerate a whole lot of is people kibbitzing or telling us we're doing it wrong without any service record to base that on (like open homosexual service, women in combat, etc.), because that is just civilians talking out of their fourth points of contact.

I personally don't look down on them. But having said that, I also don't appreciate when someone who's never served tries to say anything about how we veterans should feel or react to someone disrespecting the things we believe in and hold dear.

speaking for me absolutely not. I don't look on anyone. I choose to join and to deploy. That was the path I chose, because you and or anyone else didn't I don't hold that against them. Different strokes for different folks

BUT....

when those who didn't serve and then try and steal the honor that many have earned with blood, sweat and tears, that is when most vets will get upset.

I have never sought anyone's thanks or handouts as avet. actually I get very uncomfortable when people stop me and tell me thanks, my usual response is thank you because I don't want to say your welcome, because I just did something that I felt was right

I don't. Some people want to join, some don't. It is what it is.

I don't. And what really baffles me about these posers is that most of them either were in the military for small stint or they tried and didn't make it. So instead they embellish and go full retard.

What they don't understand is that there is honor in the things they did, but they complete render it defunct with their cowardly false claims. Being a patriot and serving your country isn't limited to military service.

No. But we do wonder why you didn't? Are people just wired differently than us? It's a lingering question that we really don't care about the answer.

Well, obviously they do.

Seriously, I got my son a "Like a Boss" tab. He's Air National Guard, but when he was in Afghanistan, they wore a velcro heavy, essentially it was Army ACUs with the brown camo pattern they tried in country.

He said he wore it under the mandarin collar and would occasionally flash it with a particular victory or for emphasis - "Like a Boss".
