Money snobs who think they are all over it. But they can't scrape together 5 grand to replace an air conditioner. But they love to tell you how much they make

Tell her about doggie Heaven and how all of the great dogs go there to have fun with their friends.
re: This plan would save social security *and* reduce elderly poverty. Your thoughts?

Rich people get more because rich people put more in. Poor people get less because they put less in. This is simple. And i despise SS and especially the disability fraud. Especially military and I'm a veteran

I reported this video for being dumb as hell

He said they were actually good watches but once the battery died that was it,couldn’t repace it.
Rolex only made one quartz watch that i can remember in the 80s.
I can tell a fake using 2 spots on the movement but I have to use a loupe for one.

Tell me more. I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on a Marathon after seeing a new model they displayed at SHOT. But not if they are a problem. I was under the impression they had a pretty good reputation.
Mine is 20 years old and the pip fell out. It's been updated with a new movement and case. They are rock solid. Would recommend. They are thick as hell too. Just fyi
The x33 is a great watch. But........ keeping that movement stocked for the next 50 years is going to be an issue. Breitling is finding this out with the Pluton

My Marathon JSAR is in for service. They are changing the movement, the case, the dial, the hands, the crystal and the bezel. The only thing I'm keeping is the rubber band. And it still takes 8 weeks to just box up this new watch and send it to me

Anyone out here wearing a 33.4mm watch?
Yeah my wife. I'm kidding hell my wife wears the Explorer 1016 and I think it's a 36mm

I wish there was a way to put a 20 mm strap on a 16 mm lug
I'll tell you what to do. Buy the 20mm rubber strap and cut the ends with an exacto knife. I've done this before. Be careful and try to cut straight

That's totally fair. She also got me recently an Orient Bambino with a leather strap so I can switch between metal and leather.
I really love doing that. I have on an Omega Speedmaster Professional from 1972 right now and I have it on a $16 rubber strap from Amazon.

Or you can pay thousands more for a pretentious status symbol that does zero more than a $30.00 timex will.
We did a survey one time and the & of people that bought a watch for conspicuous consumption was less than 10%. That's an astonishing number. You'll never understand and that's ok too.

Wife got me a Bulova Super Seville for Christmas, and it's pretty badass
The shape of that watch just does not look good on me. Same for Patek. They look weird on my wrist. And just personally I will never buy a watch with an integrated bracelet. I love to be able to switch from rubber to bracelet to leather strap and do it frequently. I don't want to be stuck with 1 choice.

Did I ever tell you that I picked up a vintage Omega Ploprof?

I actually would like to buy an expensive piece as an investment and a less expensive to wear. But I'm a relative novice.
I see Obtuse has given you all of the requisite options. I'll say this though, I have never and will never buy a watch as an investment. There are lots that are investment grade but the market fluctuates like everything else so buy what you love to wear. And I agree with Obtuse to start with something inexpensive in the PC world and see how you enjoy it. Then work yourself up and into the world of higher end watches.

We still have our watch forum. It's called international watch league

Isn’t best whatever appeals to the buyer?
Best would include durability, warranty, price, timekeeping ability and a few other points. I often buy sub par watches just because I like them better
