Got a cousin living in there. I'll buzz him and we can set up a group.
He plays. Not much Nitro though.

Cycling. Have you ever seen what the hospital bill looks like after being hit by a car?

Since you are asking about this, you must know something about cycling.

Question:

When I see a dude around town on his 10 speed and he's got the spandex unitard, the aerodynamic helmet, the special shoes and all of that horseshite,.....

He's an a-hole right?

I always assumed he's an a-hole and I would want to hang myself were I in a room with him for 5 minutes.

Am I right?

I do both and golf is WAY more expensive. Then again, I don't enter cycling tournaments or competitions. My last bike lasted 20 years with one tune-up that ran about $150. I don't even want to know what I've spent on clubs in the last 20 years. Yes, I bought helmets and biking shoes, a pump, jersey, etc., but it's not even close to the amount I've spent on golf shoes, bags, gloves, balls, and the like.

You don't have to pay to use a road.

The thread is about biking and golfing.

Not triathlons. Try and keep up

In Baton Rouge? Not worth it. Roads suck and everyone is drunk.

I think it would depend on which one has a priority.

For instance I play a lot of golf. Clubs were over $1,000 and I spend another $250-300 on gear each year plus another, $1500-2500 on greens fees, not to mention the lunches at the course, etc.

I also do ride but more for exercise and will do one or two sprint tri's a year. So I bought a $600 road bike, $75 on clothes, $50-100 on repairs each year, and maybe $400 on entry fees into the races.

I can easily see those being flipped for someone who spends more time biking than on the course.

Like anything, you can do both on a budget. If you get into riding, there's always something new to buy. A $500 helmet, a $10k bike, etc. But you can do the same with golf. You can drop a few grand on clubs. Hundreds on clothes. You'll always want to join the next country club. There are clubs with $100k+ buy in fees.

Cycling has a higher initial investment maybe.
But long term it's golf.
