If found guilty, I think the prosecution has to move for immediate remand.
Considering one witness has been murdered, it's effectively mandatory

Alfortish is going to be quickly convicted and likely to get life
Motta fricked up. She should have turned state’s evidence against Alfortish for leniency in this case. Instead she was violating the terms of her bond gambling in Mississippi and then whining to the court that it shouldn’t be revoked because she has a special needs child.
She’s gonna be hugely popular in prison.

“After Vitter left the courtroom to decide, Motta’s mother fell to the carpet and passed out, with court security workers propping her back up. Motta, meanwhile, gagged in the courtroom as someone held back her hair.”

didn’t she also defraud the parents of her first child who put up the money for her house? Can the prosecution for alfortish call her as a witness now that she’s been convicted?

Damn her legal team must have been good at convincing her she'd walk.

““Vitter made her statements as Motta continued to vomit into a garbage pail while several people inside the courtroom attempted to comfort her .”

WDSU
Shortly after she was dismissed, Motta rushed to her daughter and mother to console them.
Motta's mother then fainted, and chaos erupted in the court room and security guards screamed for a medic.
Motta and her daughter were inconsolable. Motta could be heard screaming "Mommy? Mommy!!!"
Motta's mother came-to and was given water and candy at the advice of a physician in the courtroom.
Giles was also seen consoling his mother and son prior to Motta's mother collapsing.
Vitter re-entered the courtroom and announced she would not clear the courtroom. Instead, she asked people make way for the medic.
Vitter returned to her chambers.

When Vitter returned, she said both Giles and Motta should be jailed. "To be clear, this is anything but a typical fraud case,” Vitter said. “Look at this courtroom: There is nothing in this case that makes it a typical fraud case. The jury has found a wide-ranging conspiracy involving professionals that are supposed to be looked up to, attorneys, who are part of this conspiracy.” Motta’s sentencing is scheduled for July 7 and Giles’ is scheduled for July 14.

Remanded both - straight to jail.

Jailhouse lawyering could keep Giles’ butthole intact. He’s got that going for him.

Early on I remember reading the Feds thought this conspiracy stretched into other states like Texas. Wonder what happened there.

Does OPP even have the space for them? I’m assuming Federal PMITA Prison.

They'll go to a medium at worst.
And won't a LA prison hold them until final sentencing? I thought usually the state holds them until they're sentenced and then become BOP property, because the feds have such a small jail system.
