My lawyer said (IF you are at a stop with no blood administrator on site) to refuse the breath test and demand a blood test. He said to write it all over the ticket and everything so there is proof.
Apparently, they have to comply if you demand blood .. You have the right to choose which manner you're tested in. Many cops won't want to go through the hassle of getting you to a hospital and waiting for a blood test.. And even if they do, at least an hour or so will have passed.

always pull a u turn or turn down a side road before you get to the checkpoint
I went back to La to see my Mom a couple of years ago, didn't even realize DUI checkpoints were being conducted, I came up on one, thought it was a wreck so I turned off a side street, sure enough 1 Adam 12 is coming after me code 3, I still didn't know what was going on but by this time I was on a 4 lane street, I slowed and got in the right lane and he just drove by giving me the hairy eyeball, by this time I was rejoining the highway beyond where what I thought was a wreck and could see that it was a checkpoint, he just parked and got back in line, still don't know why he didn't stop me, good thing for him because I was in a bad mood that night, probably would have kicked his arse

Sounds to me like one of the requirements of being an officer of the law isnt how to read a drivers license properly.

Were the East End boys there or just the West End girls?

I wish there were more DUI checkpoints on my route when I am out to dinner with my family.
With about 10-15k DUI related car crashes per year in the USA, you would think people would take it seriously. It's scary that statistically you are likely get a DUI after about 80 drunk driving trips.

I am a traffic safety engineer, I work with a lot of these #'s.
Quick google,
Quick google,

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 32,719 people died in traffic crashes in 2013 in the United States (latest figures available), including an estimated 10,076 people who died in drunk driving crashes, accounting for 31% of all traffic deaths that year.

how can you go to an MC meeting and not drink? that could draw suspicion and lead to a false mud check

All accidents? I don't have that, all fatals...30% is pretty much the norm

Sounds like you're the idiot.
Plenty of probable cause there.
I hope you're being sarcastic and not stupid. We are talking a major exit off the expressway on a Friday night in New Orleans. If you saw the traffic involved, you might feel even more dumb (if that is possible). Of course, Sabo's shenanigans contributed to the back up.

Yeah, I am all for rights and all that. I missed out on an uncle when my dad's brother was killed by a drunk driver in 1983, it's a real issue.
