Sorry to hear, 86; glad to hear he made progress in recovery and made good on some things. You’ll have a lot of good memories because of that

Hang in there man. Sorry for your loss. The OT can be brutal, but when it comes to something like this, the sane person is here for whatever support we can give.

Knowing everything you had to go through to have a child..,,just knowing the miracle happened and you have a son and he has a grandson....imagine the happiness those thoughts alone brought him.

So you wait a few weeks before going see your dying father?
Well we obviously didn't know he was dying. A cancer diagnosis is not a death threat these days. He wasn't even in the hospital until we were half way here. When we left the hospital Thursday AM the doctor said to him, we will get this fluid out of your abdomen tomorrow morning and then you will feel better and be out of here. The doctor also said give this chemo 2 more weeks and you will feel great and like a new person. He died 11 hours later. You just never know when someone will go. So I wanted to remind everyone to not take the family they have for granted.

So true. Lost my dad many years ago. Was a strong guy, 2 tours in Vietnam, etc. But not strong enough to get over cigarettes. My son and my brothers kids were born after he passed away. Miss doing stuf with him still and this was over 15 years ago.
For sons losing a dad is hard for a long time. Sorry to hear this but we all have to go through it. Hopefully not too early in our own lives.

Sorry to hear that, I am really happy for you that he turned his life around and made amends prior to his passing, that has to be somewhat comforting in this difficult time. Prayers to you and your family. I wish we would have gotten to see his grandson though.
