Nevermind....Read more of the thread. Leave her and don't look back.

The OP got drunk and started a new, follow up thread around midnight. He later deleted his post.

Kafka had quoted the deleted post and spliced it into the original thread from June.

This will sound heartless, but this does not sound like someone you should be planning a life with.

Hope she gets better.

Had similar experiences with 2 women, a girlfiriend, then my wife. Both relationships ended, and they are both alive 6 and 25 years later. Important things to remember: you can't fix them; only they can fix themselves; and depression is hereditary, so if you stay, you'll eventually have to deal with this with your kids. Best to get out now. Sorry.

As someone who has been through something similar to your girlfriend - I was suicidal and spent 2 weeks in the mental block of a hospital- do not blame yourself. This isn't your fault in the least.

Thankfully she's okay. Keep doing what you're doing, caring for her and being supportive. This is going to be an uphill battle, but it can be beat. She needs help and support. I'm living testament that these things can be overcome- I'm comfortably employed and just got married, I love my life and have put those issues behind me. What helped me get through that valley is professional help and the support of loved ones, like you and her family are to her.

I know this is a tough time for you and her family but keep loving her and being there for her, and get her the help she needs. If you have any questions or want to talk about anything from the perspective of someone who has been there, email me at bogardkd56@gmail.com

That goes for anyone who might be reading this thread that has a loved one suffering or is suffering themself. Everyone's life is worth it, and things can get better even if it doesn't seem possible at the moment.

Really tough situation, you'll definitely be tempted to go back to her but stay strong. Remember that no matter how selfless you were doing the situation she was being selfish by hooking up with her ex. Those types of mental issues do not go away and it would have been a long dark road with her. Good luck man

He updated again, but deleted, ended up choosing the ex over him.
