I mean, is anyone surprised? Dei hires = didn’t earn it. Lowering standards so some people can get jobs they shouldn’t ever have.

But what some people might be missing is that while sheriffs actually are executive, in most states they serve the courts to such a large extent that the line seems blurred. So it is not as simple as many people portray the model.
Even more complicated on the federal level for the executive agency which simultaneously serves the processes of all three branches of government.

I wouldn't have known what branch either on local level. I guess it would have been executive or judicial.
When I think Executive, I think President/Governor and their appointed positions. He is an elected law enforcement officer...I could see Judicial.
Not saying my reasoning is "smart" because I'm obviously ignorant...but I can empathize with it not being so cut and dry.
