Interesting…what do these winter species feed on?
Most people think that hummingbirds are solely dependent on nectar, but they also eat a lot of insects. They need structure in order to build bones and feathers, so exoskeletal material is important for them. They will raid spider webs for dried carcasses.
Dr Todd McWhorter has done some interesting research on their digestive systems and Sheri Williamson has a good book about them. She is in Arizona, but is familiar with the migration patterns here.
Having said this, I got a report of a Ruby-throated in New Orleans yesterday, so maybe some are showing up early. Or maybe it was a misidentified winter bird.

I have recently seen a Calliope, a few Black-chinned and a Broad-tailed. Also read reports of several other species in the area - which have spent winter in this area and are leaving or will be leaving soon.
I have not seen incoming Ruby-throated yet, but that is not surprising since research indicates that these birds migrate based upon the length of days rather than some knowledge of weather conditions at distant destinations.
Previous year records show that we can expect mostly young males on March 15 in much of southeast Louisiana. Possibly a day or two earlier along the coast.

You can fix her.
Random thoughts in no particular order:

Keith Young's Steakhouse in Madisonville
Any of the Abita Roastery locations but especially the one in Madisonville
Sal and Judy in Lacombe
DiMartino's in Covington
This looks like a suicide by cop situation to me.
Either incredibly inept or he wanted to force them to shoot him.
And why the gasoline?
It is unfortunate for the personnel and his family who had to endure this traumatic event.
But yet another example of how the crazies are focused on President Trump.

TD recommended a Speed Queen TC5 when we were in need and it was expensive.
Pretty basic and old school - which we wanted.
So far, so good, but it is very loud.
Would go to Speed Queen again, but you might look for a quieter model or close the utility room door.
Learning the policy where you work is the correct answer.

I would have expected to be notified ASAP if I needed to cover the needs when employees could not get the job done.

But most of them would call coworkers to cover for their duties and then notify me of the change with the coworker copied on the message.
The problem and solution in one efficient message.

If necessary, they knew that I would cover the duties personally.

We communicated well and took good care of each other. Maturity and responsibility were a large expectation in our work culture - up and down the food chain.

If that is not your work environment, try to introduce it, because everyone benefits.
Life can be hard, but inflicting such harm on your children is on a whole different level.
The kids should file a suit against her and use a court order to discover where she is so they can serve the suit on her for doing this horrible thing.
No opinion on the spouse, as we know nothing about him or the relationship, but her children surely suffered because of her actions.
Let the lawyers roast her.

Clark, - You seem to know interesting details about this event. Do you know if the record of that event is still under seal?
People can downvote all day long, but you are the one who has accurately put out the most informed detail. Seal even made a comment that he would rather die than go back into protection.

Look on the bright side.
It is slightly less annoying to be hearing a voice which you can actually understand while they are doing nothing to solve the problem than hearing a voice which you cannot understand...

A cow wallowing on a pole while pretending to be surprised that her top got popped down when she set it all up.
Such contrived BS.

They aren’t that smart.
You are confusing just intelligence with physical capability along with intelligence. These creatures have limited physical ability and resources to apply their significant intelligence to making tools and and structures.
Thank God for your opposable thumbs and ready supply of resources.

In many places, obstructing the sidewalk - even partially is a violation.
As a policy consultant, I was tasked with assisting in writing a policy for dealing with body alterations of people under care of an organization. In this process, I learned a lot about the unregulated chemicals involved in creating various tattoo colors. Surprisingly damaging chemicals are used which are not addressed under any food and drug or medical guidelines. Chemicals such as arsenic, cadmium, lead...
Known toxins and suspected carcinogens are commonly part of tattoo ink.
Immediate screening for hepatitis and other diseases was suggested.
Leaving them in place has risks as these degrade over time and enter the bloodstream to harm internal organs.
But removal is as dangerous as getting them because the chemicals flow through the blood stream when lasered loose.
No free ride.
Just take a look at what chemicals make up those colors before impulsively getting a tattoo so you make an informed choice.
