Notes are always a bad idea. The receiver is put in a defensive posture. In person they can see you are not just being an arse and genuinely trying to resolve situation. Any conflict with employees, neighbors, family or anyone who is going to be in your life should always be personal and never while mad.
The offender leaves at 5:30 and works a 12-16 hour day (allegedly). When exactly will the note leaver be able to talk face-to-face with loud dog guy? People blaming the person who left the least offensive note of all time is pretty ridiculous.

Bark collars? Personally I prefer my dogs bark because there could be a really good reason for it. My dogs don't bark that often.

You are the problem.

My neighbor ladies dog is always barking too. It is annoying as shite.
Be glad she did you the courtesy of leaving a note first.

If they are being woken up at 540 am they have a legitimate gripe

Plus it sounds like he has never even met them before. No one wants to introduce themself to someone by confronting them about a problem.

That's actually a polite note.
You should be glad they contacted you this way, rather than another.
Nice granite countertops.

Hey, I drive an Accord and I have fake arse countertops! But if someone left me a note like that, I would be fricking mortified.

We are lucky and my dog only rarely barks and that's only when someone approaches the fence. But we still keep her in a kennel. I let her out for about 3 hours in the morning before work, at lunch for about 45 minutes, then she's back out after work. I don't know if we could keep her if we couldn't handle those hours. I hate my neighbors dog that yaps the entire time is out.

Maybe bring your dog inside? We crate trained out dogs.

Crate train your dog, pay someone to walk it once a day around lunch if no one else can or is willing to, it's not that difficult.
If you can't do that, no dog for you.

Try to correct the dog's behavior, but I don't see how people let stuff like this mess with their sleep.
I can sleep through a hurricane and a train derailment but I recognize that some people aren't as blessed as me when it comes to sleep.
I know it sucks but do something about the dog.

Disturbing the peace is usually 11:00 p.m. until 7 a.m., maybe 8 a.m. depending on where you live.
It encompasses ALL noise: you, your partying, your music and your dogs.
