No safety briefing
No drop down or skiffs launched. Or even available that I’m aware of.
No visible crew on the different decks.
No life rings readily available
No crew getting/ throwing life vests. No one was in charge outside of the wheel house
The list goes on..
There’s also the question of the weather. And how many others boats scraped their plans that evening
Lawsuits aren’t always about money.
99% of the fault is the kid's. If they recover a cent it will be a crime.

That’s the problem. No one was aware
It’s a bad look bc no one was in charge on the decks and every man overboard protocol calls for as many readily available flotation devices to be dispensed
I’m not saying anybody should be making money off this but if you have 400+ 18 year olds drinking on a boat. Overboard safety should be a priority… it doesn’t seem at the moment that the crew was prepared for this possibility..
That’s all I’m getting to..
It's a 21 second video not sure you can draw all of those conclusions from it. Regardless, even if all of that is true, which for the sake of argument, I will assume it is, it's still 99% the fault of the kid.

I think that was the life preserver they threw over. You don't see it AR first. Then you see a splash, what people think was a shark, then you finally see the life preserver.

New, slightly longer footage linked below. Honestly looks even more like a shark in that same spot (that was the 3 second mark in the other video). It's not 100% it's a shark at that spot but it's a reasonable position that it is a shark or another large marine animal. Again, that's a different question from whether he was attacked, but it seems like it very well could have been a shark that spooked him and made him change directions.

That didn’t look like a life preserver falling in the water to me

Am I the only one seeing an “eye”?

That's the part that on the other video (and this video) have always reasonably looked like it COULD be a shark or other large marine animal to me.

Whatever it is or may be, it's directly in his line of sight, and then he almost immediately turns around and starts heading in the opposite direction.

He definitely punches at something

To me, it was clearly a shark from the first time I saw the slowed video. Cam was a baw and he would def know that you try and punch a shark that is attacking you, which is what he's doing. Possible that there was more than 1 trailing the boat. Basically seals it.

This video is much clearer. Watching it slowly you can see him get pulled under. You can still see part of his torso under water. He doesn’t drift out of camera view, he’s pulled under. You can even see remnants under water after the camera pans back from the buoy. Poor kid. That’s fricking awful.

That was a Shark my friends. One of the worst places he could have jumped. They will hang around ships like that also with items such as food/trash being thrown overboard. This is not any disrespect towards this young man but some people are just stupid. YOU are not invincible ESPECIALLY in their world. They are everywhere around us at all times. The drone footage I have of Sharks in South FLA is insane! Bulls, Lemons, and Blacktips are everywhere. You get in those Bahamas you are dealing with Tigers, AND THE Caribbean Reef Shark. Once one of them bites you, 20 more are coming in right after. I love Sharks but they also scare the living crap out of me. Such a sneaky predatory fish. Their brains are built like car engines, just gnarly. This whole attitude of oh it will never happen to me is BS. Get educated and learn your surroundings and the environment you find yourself in.
It just upsets me knowing this kid did this to himself.
Young and dumb. We have all been there, but jumping over a cruise ship in probably the most Shark infested region you could possibly find yourself in, I just shake my head. RIP young man, and condolences to him and his family and friends.

That scream you hear in the background, that’s not an “oh no! Somebody fell off the boat” scream.
Sounds more like an “I’m witnessing something horrific and terrifying” scream to me
