No easy way to do it. First day on, I usually run errands in the morning and try to catch a nap before my shift. First day off, I either try to get things done in the morning/afternoon then sleep till the next day or goo straight to sleep and wake up in the afternoon.
Most of the time, bank on losing at least 1 day. Either do things all day, the first day on, and lose sleep and struggle to make it through your shift. Or, don't sleep the first day off and struggle through staying awake all day.

Modanifil.
Seriously, it's known as the shift workers drug, also the limitless drug.
Docs will prescribe it for people that will be doing dangerous night work because it keeps you alert but not jittery.

Coffee lots of coffee.
Get you some blackout curtains for your bedroom.
Turn off the phone during the day, nothing worse than trying to sleep and some idiot calls trying to sell you something.
All of this, but doesn't have to be coffee.
Your body really never gets used to sleeping during the day. It's good that you only have it for three months...you'll be ready for it to be over after the first week.
