Not exactly comparing apple to apples are we. I believe in God, the Christian God, and all that jazz in the Bible. The Bible says Jesus is God. Jesus said he is God. History proves that Jesus did in fact exist, was in fact crucified, did in fact die and did in fact have an empty tomb. Hundreds of people truly believe they saw him alive, flesh and blood, after his crucifixion. Although I haven't seen Him personally, I trust the witnesses that did. Just saying.

The universe is HUGE and there are lots and lots of planets, but just because a probability equation says aliens are likely to exist, it doesn't prove that they do exist. There is no observable evidence for aliens.

Didn't they just have something come out about diversifying our intergalactic message we broadcast?

Why bother? If Star Trek taught us anything, it's that all alien species speak English.

I think people preach on this point a little too much. I mean, we get it, space is big. But it can't be that big.

To be fair, space is black.

it's literally mathematically impossible that aliens don't exist.

it isn't likely that we will see them. but they're out there. 100%

If we are here, I don't see why its so far fetched to believe there is life somewhere else. Space isn't that small of a place.

I genuinely don't trust the opinion of those who still disbelieve in the existence of some form of extraterrestrial existence.

Ok, first Jesus was black, then Santa Claus was Black and now SPACE is black.

What makes it a hack piece and why do you feel that this is typical of NPR?

This article sounds like it was written by a 5th grader judging by the syntax. NPR hires largely nothing but liberal, uneducated "journalists" to further their agenda.

Douglas Adams argued that it could be proven that in fact, no life exists at all. The argument goes...

There are an infinite number of planets in the universe. We know this simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to occupy. However, not all of them are hospitable to life. Any finite number divided by infinity is, for all practical purposes, zero.

So, there you go. The universe is sterile.

Lol. Lol. Nor isn't perfect but your post is full of shite.

1. Yes, journalists are supposed to write with a low syntax (unless your the WSJ or NYT). They are writing for everyone to understand it and that does require simplicity.
2. Uneducated? Really? Lol, no. They hire from some of the best schools in the country.
3. I think NPR is more fair than a lot of news sources. Also, while there are plenty of justifiable examples, the liberal media rant tends to be hugely overplayed. I talked with a former Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and he told me that there were just as many conservative journalists a liberals. He said the process is generally more humanitarian than lintel. You're encountering people with huge problems every day and your trying to tell their story.

They picked up a broadcast of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and concluded that there was no intelligent life on Earth.

The chances that there has been alien life in the universe matching our intelligence or higher is probable.

The chance that said alien life has blown themselves up is also very probable.

The chance that said alien life will make any sort of contact with us is very very very improbable.
