In college while studying about Greek mythology a story was mentioned about Queen Pasiphe falling in love with a white bull sent by Poseidon. Queen Pasiphae had a craftsman build her a hollow wooden cow she could climb inside of and mate with the white bull. That is where the concept of a Minotaur came from.
