It was an awful deal. Tim Samaras was the lead chasers name. Got to "know" him a bit by watching every season of Storm Chasers. He was one of the most respected guys in he industry.

The rapid expansion of that El Reno storm was pure insanity. It expanded like 1.5 miles in under 2 minutes or something absurd.

Those stupid frickers drove straight into that thing.

I think they were trying to get to the West or North, but seriously, if you see it heading toward the road AHEAD of you, why the hell not just stop, or turn around and go the other way?

Seriously though, if anybody gets time, this video of El Reno is worth a watch.

No doubt. There was a thread a week or two ago about things you want to see before you die, and a tornado is way up there for me. I've seen water spouts and what not, but I want to see a legit F-3 or higher tornado, preferably from a safe distance. They are almost always rain-wrapped in our area though.

Maybe one day you will be so lucky and a tornado will come wipe your house out. Then you can say, you saw one.

Big storms just passed through here. I hear they're getting it worse down there.

I'm watching some storm chasers who are up near Elizabethtown... they're talking about the other storm to the south by Mayfield

+1, I live in OK and can tell you that nobody here looks forward to seeing a tornado, the death and destruction is not something to ever wish for.

That is a CLASSIC hook echo.

I love weather stuff.

My boy John Humphress is over in Kentucky, but I can't get his stream to load.
