hey, why dont you get on a motorcycle and go 55mph down the road & let a car bump into you?

What's the pint of posting those numbers? There are far more motorcyclists on the road compared to bicyclists, so I'm not really sure what your point is.

I've been close to it. And I can tell you unless I get run over, I won't be dying from it.

so laying on the road injured on an interstate you can be seen clearly by the other cars?

eta you just want to argue (like you always do) because if you seriously think it safer rocketing through traffic on a motorcycle than going 15mph on a bicycle along the shoulder of the road you are clearly trolling.

You argue the dumbest shite. No shite if you get run over you have a higher likelihood of dying. It's still not anywhere near a guarantee just from getting tapped by a car.

You could just admit that comparing motorcycles being in the road with bicyclists being on the road was an awful comparison, but that'd be too easy.

ETA: Being on a motorcycle is definitely more safe than riding a bicycle along a highway. You're numbers are really skewed.

If you think he was excluding motorcycles, then you're an idiot. But based off you posting terrible stats and making a dumb argument, we already know that.

My friend is the one who survived. He has a very long road to recovery. Knew the one who was killed. Father of triplets. Very sad.

In from Atlanta for the race. Riding the course I guess.
He's in critical condition with a fractured spine, pelvis, extremities and major laceration.

Thanks... Been gathering info the past hour or so. My buddy was a very active runner/triathlete. Not sure what his abilities will be when he gets through this.
The other guy was his brother in law had 8 or 9 year-triplet girls so I know they have a long road ahead.
I don't ever wander far from the Rant and happened to see this looking for info.

Never ride your bike in the streets of NOLA. That;s why we have bike paths on the levee

Too many one ways, narrow roads and bad parking. Walking is dangerous enough.

Shitty reporting and frick the police:

police point out it is a four-lane highway, and not an approved bike path.

We don't need police approval to ride our bikes on the street.
