Yes that’s correct. They all eventually crack lol. I guess it was a excuse to peel the eggs for potato salad etc

See, you take all of your eggs and you use foil to hold them so they boil pointy side down. This makes the air bubble go to the rounder end that you're not going to use to paque anyway. None of this boiling for texture so it's more pleasant when you eat, either. You boil the shite out of them so the egg inside is as hard and tough as possible. Now, the savvy paquer is gonna have his own laying hens. You start mixing in some crushed oyster shells in that chicken feed and it'll give the hens the minerals they need to put down a nice hard eggshell when laying.

Anything beyond that starts getting into the realm of adulterating the eggs and that makes you a cheating scoundrel.

My grandmother didn't frick around when it came to breaking everyone else's eggs. Paqueing was serious bidness to her.

That’s because when adults pock eggs there is normally wagering involved.

What a great tradition. Is paqueing done after the Easter Egg Hunt for the little kids or instead of it?

No, the broken eggs were used for the required potato salad. Also ate them with salt on them paired with beer.

Grand Coteau here, we do all dat pacque shay, den we do da easter toss for good luck, 2 teams, one in da front and one in da back of da house, flip a coin to see what team starts da throws, the goal is to throw da egg over the house and hit the ground in the designated area, think tennis or badminton, points are scored or lost by each team if da egg hits in da court, out of bounds OR is fair caught by da opposing team, den after each team member tosses an egg da other team tosses der eggs, 1st team to a predetermined score wins and stays on da court to take on the challengers...

After the hunt, but before it's time to eat. The broken eggs go into the potato salad. Easter potato salad is multicolored from the dye that gets through the shell onto the white of the egg.
