That's him. Everybody knew him as simply "Doc". NOBODY called him Jim up here.

And on another related side note... my lab partner was his youngest daughter. All three of them were very pretty and super nice. His oldest daughter competed won the Miss Mississippi-USA pageant in 1981.

The old Alabama River bridge at Claiborne, Alabama. It was replaced in 1984 .

Thanks, Mauser! This took me right back to 1973 when I got one of these for my 5th birthday. Good times and a soaking wet shirt!

That picture screams the 70's. Kitchen table with 2 ashtrays with butts in them, pack of Kools with a Zippo lighter on top, Formica countertop, percolator coffee maker, wall hung phone with a really long coiled cord, ugly wallpaper and upholstery and the gal with the long hair parted down the middle.

I can hear Forest now--------------"She smells like cigarettes".

Yep. Remember him being in the TV commercials, and I got that same GAF model for Christmas that year. I had just turned seven.

That was the last Christmas with my mom and dad together. Didn't know it but they were just going through the motions for Christmas day and plans were afoot. Day after Christmas, they put me on a Greyhound bus to go visit my grandparents until New Year's. When my grandparents brought me back, my dad had moved out and was gone.

Murderous pigs sent to the gallows, sparrows prosecuted for chattering in church, a gang of thieving rats let off on a wholly technical acquittal — Nicholas Humphrey explores the strange world of medieval animal trials

Well, now... I never expected to see the place where I was raised mentioned on TD! Let me just say that it's a great place to be from. (I think you'll get my meaning if you've ever spent much time there.)

That is an awesome headline. "Will Prince Charles Be A Sissy?" By " The Gunner".

The answer was YES! Prince Chuck would become a sissy prince and a sissy king.

That was a a great news page.

The article "So you're really in love!" and the advertisement "Are you too thin?".

Folks probably bought that paper for that page alone.

Don't know when this photo was taken, guessing around 1970, but these women look like friends moms I grew up with (same hairdos). Some of the same hairdos survived through mid 80's with a lot of these moms. My wife's mom was sporting this look when I first met her parents back in 1982.

I remember in middle school going over to my best friend's house and his mom was sporting curlers, with a scarf covering of course, house coat and slippers. I told him his mom was hot, I was just messing with him. He just shook his head, I laughed.
