Well, how about using that plus the sworn account the girl gave to police....that he raped her?

Or that they deemed it credible enough, along with the physical evidence she claims exists, to arrest and charge him. I understand SFP's argument against circumstantial evidence, and he'll have his day in court, but to pretend like it's an equally plausible scenario that she is pulling this out of thin air is a joke.

Well she said he tore her clothes. Do you think the police did zero investigation?

obviously his "friends" should have tried to help the guy out as he was mentally unstable...maybe you should have intervened and try to get him help

The guy's defense could just argue "she likes it rough". Hard to figure out whether that kind of thing was consensual or malicious. Same if she had any bruises.

It was reported that this all went down early Saturday morning and he was arrested at 5pm Saturday so I would say they did enough to warrant the arrest.

I think it's what lawyers do. They take individual items of any case, and focus on how that alone doesn't prove anything. If they can break down each of those individually, they feel as though they can convince one that it didn't happen. If you step back, though, and put all of those individual items together, I think you get a clearer picture.

"friends" is right. Not one person here who knew the guy said they liked him. I doubt you would try to get help for someone you don't like

Seriously, what girl do you know that would want her clothes torn?

Being that she was meeting a new guy I'm sure she wore one of her cutest outfits

I'm not one to believe second hand accounts or opinions but this guy seems schitzo if true.

i mean just because I hate somebody doesn't mean if I realize he has a problem I wouldn't try to help, but maybe I'm just too nice of a guy

Yeah, that's not, at all, what sfp is doing in this thread.

Well the thing was, at the time we were all freshmen...we just thought he was an entitled prick acting tough. We thought he was a huge arse but relatively harmless. Then all the stuff happened with him getting arrested when he called the cops about his ex-girlfriend's fake suicide or whatever and we thought he'd be sobered. At that time we all split paths and didn't run into him anymore.

We weren't friends in the first place, but he wasn't the kind of guy you could tell to cool it or to get some help. He thrived off the conflict, I think.

Except how would he know what she liked? Lawyer can parade ex boyfriends that say otherwise.

they may have talked about it via text or tinder at one point

again, there's not enough real info in the article for us to say either way...I'm sure the cops didn't give up all the info they have.

How the hell are you going to convince someone you aren't close to, to seek mental health treatment?

Do you know how many people won't go even with family members trying to convince them?
