When I brought this up a while back, someone said it isn't the male's fault you were convinced. Being convinced isn't rape. Etc. And that might be halfway true,

It is true. No halfway about it.

Good god, you still don't get it.

Etymology[edit]
As if consent +? -ual

Adjective[edit]
consentual (not comparable)

(perhaps nonstandard) Alternative spelling of consensual.
Usage notes[edit]
Widely used, but much less common (<1%) than consensual in published writings. In less careful settings, this spelling may be more common (~12% at Google Groups). The expression "consentual sex" is almost as common as "consensual sex" at Google Groups.

Well then. That must make it correct.

I mentioned in these threads before how common it is when we're young and someone you're crazy about (say, your high school sweetheart) wants to have sex. And he's pushing and pushing and trying and begging. Say you're snuggled in bed or on the couch and he's just trying to hard and you like him a lot but you would have never initiated sex yet because you're not ready. And you don't want to lose your boyfriend or for him to be angry with you and you eventually stop fighting back even though you didn't say "YES LET'S DO IT!"

typing this nonsense in response to an actual rape victim is a disservice to her and others like her.

this isn't rape.

it's absurd.

under that definition any persuasive conversation is technically rape.

it's completely unhinged.

She wasn't saying it was rape.

She was showing how different demeanors/situations can result in not being ready, but there's a much different act that is involved.

yes she was. she was explaining that rape isn't black and white and using that absurd hypothetical as an example.

it's disgusting.

giving consent because you're annoyed or he's persistent or you don't want to hurt his feelings is STILL GIVING CONSENT.

consent is consent is consent. in no way is consent rape.

there's no gray area about it.

she did about 30 pages ago, and she just did again.

it's the deranged thinking of lunatics. Under her definition speaking to another person if they offer any objection and something happens is rape.

For example under LL's deranged logic:

Man: Hey let me drive us home so we can bang.
Woman: No, I dont think so.

Under the deranged logic of LL, any further continuation of this conversation that results in sex is rape. Now let's continue the story.

Man: Why not?
Woman: You're drunk and shouldnt drive.

DO YOU SEE?

Just in the last two pages we see that no means no, yes means no, no can sometimes mean yes if you dont want to hurt someones feelings, but that is actually rape and consentual is an acceptable form of consensual because Google groups said so.

And yet that is the direction we are headed. You should take a look at what various colleges are doing with respect to sexual assault (actions that are also being pushed by the federal government). There is a real effort to get women to report a sexual assault if they just happen to regret sexual activity the next day.

yeah, even if it was consensual, you are STILL guilty if she "believes" she was raped. It's growing on campuses across the country.

it's completely fricked.

also the standard on campus is lowered. criminal is still beyond a reasonable doubt, but colleges do the 'preponderance' standard and really do not allow those accused of sexual misconduct proper due process. there are some horror stories

True CSB:

after the first day of orientation at da U the day ended with an outdoor concert type thing on the fields (think parade grounds).

I was walking back to my dorm afterwards and there was a girl walking in front of me. When I walked into the dorm, she was standing at the desk pointing at me and yelling, "that's him, thats the guy who stalked me from orientation!"

I handed the desk guy my card, who knew who I was because I had been on campus early for swimming, and walked upstairs to my room.

it has only gotten worse since then.
