Mitch completely neglects his infrastructure so he can take down some statues and now the state comes in and foots the bill. Perfect.

The black voters of New Orleans are perfectly happy with Mitch and with his neglect of infrastructure and crime in favor of Race Grievance. If they are happy with it, I'm happy with it. I hope everybody enjoys their Flood/Murder.
Personally, and not that a single citizen of Nola gives a frick,I'm done with that city. I don't conduct business there (first year ever), I don't go to concerts, sporting events or restaurants there, and I think the people of Nola should be free to enjoy this new Murder/Flood reality they have architected for themselves. If the majority of citizens want it, who am I to argue from 75 miles away.

It probably wasn't large enough
It was abvioulsy large enough to wake up every single resident of the damn city, and large enough for the Bitch to hold a press conference at 3am....
I mean, who in the hell is sitting in a pump station at 3 am when it's not even raining? How did they even know there was a fire and why did the fire start if the pumps werent even running?
This whole fiasco smells like rotten Landrieu bullshi

No one knows this is happening if the past weekends events didn't happen.

Maybe no one. I don't think this was a blaze as much as a motor or transformer burnt up. Could have tripped the power source and the fire extinguished itself due to lack of fuel.
I'm not saying this isn't bullshite, but it isn't an abnormal thing for pump fires to be minor.

Good point. They said the FD wasn't even called out?

The truth is, we will never know what really happened
Even if he is telling the truth it will fall upon deaf ears because nobody trusts this piece of shite anymore

Most people were against or indifferent to removing the statues, but we all know the rub.
Why in the frick is the mayor doing this instead of spending money, time, and resources on a thousand more important issues.
Mitch may be the most hated man in the history of New Orleans and that's saying something.

I'm not a betting man, but if I were, I'd bet that the $2 million in city funds that went toward statue removal could have gone a long way in updating the pumping systems.

I was surprised when I read the comments on the WWL facebook post on this.
There were lots of black people saying they think this fire is fabricated.

It certainly could have paid for 11 years of $175/yr pension payments.

If I were running the state, I'd give Mitch an emergency loan. If he goes one minute over the repayment period, I'd hit NOLA with an additional sales tax until the debt was paid off.

The black people are fed up with his shite...they dont care about those fricking monuments.
The only people that cared about those monuments were the white far left liberal assholes that continue to ruin this city.

We're so fricked.
Absolute hopelessness and helplessness in your city and community is a miserable feeling.
