The backsplash is horrible, and not a fan of the blinds that do that. How do the cabinets at the top open? Up or to the side?

I like it, but agree with most that the backsplash needs some color. Maybe a green color.

I like it minus the wood species selection for the beams. My house is decorated mid-century modern however so I'm a little bit biased.

You do realize that's the advantages of MCM design, the lines never really go out of style, right?
I have furniture in my house from 1963, that many retailers have copied and you can buy today. It's just in style today as it was in the 1960's.
Classic lines are just that.
