This story shook me up the first time I heard it. It changed my perception on how bad the crime in BR and NOLA was becoming.
There’s hood trash and then there’s Louisiana hood trash. Hood trash in Louisiana act impulsively and ruthlessly. They don’t discriminate and they’re not afraid to kill anyone who comes their way. Allison Rice is a prime example as well as the old white lady in New Orleans who was mugged and dragged to death from a car in broad daylight.

He should have been shot on sight while surrendering. There was no need for any more paperwork.

He was actually kinda smart about it. He called WAFB to surrender that way he knew cameras would be there. The man knew that if he was caught on the run he’d be killed.

That looks like the old Woman's Hospital now police station.

Crazy that all happened because of stealing $20 in disposable cameras. It’s BS but I see why these corporations have a different mentality around loss prevention tactics today.

The judicial system killed her just as much as he did. There was zero reason that motherfricker should have been free.

He should have been executed already. But I think he has mental issues. But that should not matter if you are a stone cold killer.

For sure. At least some areas.

I read the article. Judge Freddie Pitcher is responsible. Probation officer wrote 2 letters to Pitcher urging him to revoke the probation, nothing was done. Officer Wax’s death was avoidable, Wax’s family shoud sue the shite out of the judicial dept.

. Unfortunately, that area is still very ghetto.
It's not ghetto around there at all.
Where do some of y'all get this nonsense? Do you even live in Baton Rouge?

I agree 100% ... sadly, Shedran Williams and others sentenced to death will continue to live for many more years while on death row. As of 2023, there were 57 people on DR waiting execution including a sentencing from 1979 - 45 yrs ago. Antoinette Frank (NOLA police officer) was sentenced to death in 1995 and is still on DR. The last performed lethal injection in Louisiana was in 2010. Over 14 years and taxpayers are still paying to keep these prisoners alive. They use the appellate system to extend their execution claiming false imprisonment, poor legal representation, mental retardation/insanity, new evidence, etc ....
interesting facts ....
What does the death penalty cost Louisiana?
A study from Loyola University in 2019 found that the state spends around $15.6 million a year on maintaining its capital punishment system.
The same study found that, over a 15 - year period, the state spent more than $200 million on the death penalty. Over that period, the state executed one inmate.
A life term expects to cost $1,000,000, but it expected a death penalty sentence to cost twice as much, at $2,000,000. Annual costs per DR inmate range from $70,000 to $140,000 to basically keep them alive while providing food, shelter, medical treatment, and other services.

There is also evidence that the mental stability of Williams may have been in question some ten years ago. In a letter to Judge Freddie Pitcher from Williams' probation officer in January of 1991 urged the judge to consider revoking Williams' probation because of his total lack of cooperation. However, nothing was done.
More than a year later another letter again asks the judge to consider revocation stating "the subject's mother has contacted us concerning the subjects behavior and requested he be evaluated." In that same letter the probation officer wrote to the court "we finally obtained an evaluation from a private facility."
The news in the evaluation report foretold the future... It said, "The complaints, by the probation officer and the mother, are a history of arrests for burglary, physical violence and substance ingestion...." the report concluded...."It is likely this patient suffers from a character disorder which prevents his use of good judgement...he has an increasing history of violence," and it concluded, "Without significant psychiatric intervention this patient will likely continue to contact the criminal justice system and be a threat to his family and others."

Williams Allegedly Shot Lt. Wax After Being Confronted For Shoplifting
It all started Saturday night around 10 p.m., when Lt. Vickie Wax and a Wal-Mart security officer questioned Williams about a suspected shoplifting. A source close to the investigation tells 9 News that Williams was stealing disposable cameras, after he purchased more than $40 worth of merchandise.
Police say when Wax tried to handcuff Williams, he punched her in the face, which knocked her to the floor. Williams then took Wax's gun and shot a shopper and security guard, who tried to intervene.
Witnesses say that Williams had the opportunity to run, but instead pointed the gun at Lieutenant Vickie Wax and shot her while she was still on the floor.

I lived near that store when this happened and I still think about her senseless death pretty often.
